Snowboard and Freestyle Ski registration form 2010
The Ruapehu Sport teams train at Turoa and Whakapapa ski areas. Ruapehu has been involved in ski racing since 1929 when it held the first National Championships. Since then Mt Ruapehu has fostered a number of World Cup, Olympic and National champions.
The programme has also had success with our Freestyle and Snowboard athletes. A number of athletes have been on the podium at National and International events.
Both Turoa and Whakapapa provide programs that cater for the athlete’s needs and commitment level. Full time or weekends and holiday programmes are offered for the 2009 the season. We offer training from Entry level (8-10yr olds) through to Senior FIS racers (20+yrs old).
We have a number of fitness facilities in and around National Park and Ohakune, which the team have access to. There are weights and aerobic facilities available on both sides with a number of tracks for running and mountain biking. The area provides limitless opportunities for fitness and off-mountain training.
