School Programme
On snow and academics are managed over 5 days mid week during term three at either ski area. This programme caters for children attending Ohakune Primary and National Park School. It is designed as an introduction to the racing and freestyle and a stepping stone to full time training which includes weekends and holidays.

Requirements:
· 7 -12yr olds , born 1997-2002
· Confident skier that can do parallel turns on advanced terrain
· Independent in the mountain environment
Equipment:
· Skis - One pair of skis are required.
· Boots - Good fitting boots. Rear-entry not recommended.
· Ski Poles - Proper length.
· Goggles - Properly fitted. No gap for cold days.
· Helmet - Secure fitting helmet. Preferably with hard ears.
On-Snow Objectives:
Similar to the weekend development programme, these athletes are learning how to ski at a high level with a goal of competing in ski racing and freestyle events. The children in this programme are at an advantage with the mountain so close to school. This allows 3 mornings of skiing a week with school for the rest of the day. This will involve improving their technical skiing base, and tactical skills.
Academic Objectives:
This program is run in conjunction with the National Park School and Ohakune Primary. The school's provide term 3 curriculums up to year 8.
